Disney+ is preparing to bring its popular streaming hits directly to fan’s homes through Collector’s Edition 4K UHD and Blu-ray formats. Marvel’s Loki and WandaVision, along with the original Star Wars series The Mandalorian, are all set to receive physical releases on different dates. These releases will feature special Steelbook packaging adorned with concept art cards and a wealth of previously unreleased bonus materials that fans will surely find irresistible.
Kicking off the release schedule is Loki Season 1, which will become available in Collector’s Edition 4K UHD and Blu-ray on Tuesday, September 26. Following that, WandaVision’s sole season will hit shelves on 4K UHD and Blu-ray on Tuesday, November 28. The Mandalorian’s first and second seasons will arrive as separate items on Tuesday, December 12. Pre-orders for these releases will open on Monday, August 28. Each title will be offered nationwide in a Blu-ray Steelbook format, boasting all-new collectible box art designs crafted by artist Attila Szarka.
While specific details regarding the editions for WandaVision and The Mandalorian will be disclosed at a later date, Disney has already unveiled the bonus features to be included in the Loki Season 1 release. In this epic action-packed time-defying thriller, Loki (played by Tom Hiddleston) steps out of his brother’s shadow, leading viewers on a captivating journey with new characters such as Owen Wilson’s agent Mobius and Sophia Di Martino’s Sylvie.
Among the bonus content is “Designing the TVA,” a deep dive into the intricate set of Loki Season 1 with insights from Production Designer Kasra Farahani and Tom Hiddleston. This feature also offers a sneak peek into Season 2. “The Official TVA Orientation Video” provides an insightful glimpse into Miss Minutes (voiced by Tara Strong) as she elucidates the inner workings of the TVA timeline in her orientation video.
Additionally, the “Gag Reel” showcases amusing outtakes from the cast and crew during the filming of Season 1. The Collector’s Edition also incorporates two deleted scenes, one of which is “Loki’s Coronation.” This scene is highlighted as one of the moments reviewed by Mobius from Loki’s timeline, in which Frog Thor makes a memorable appearance. The second deleted scene, titled “The Standoff,” depicts Loki’s confrontation with Sylvie held against the backdrop of the TVA.
Completing the array of bonus features is “Assembled: The Making of Loki.” This in-depth look offers a broader perspective on the entire series, delving into the exploits of the God of Mischief and how they were masterfully brought to life on screen.
